Fireplace and Hearth Information
This page is devoted to Fireplace and Hearth Product information with links to manufactures. Contra Costa County now requires that wood burning fireplaces have an EPA certification. The purpose of the ordinance is to reduce emmisions into the air. Heatilator is introducting an EPA Certified wood burning fireplace Model EF60 Pending. Heat-N-Glo Fireplace Products has an EPA Certified wood burning Fireplace Model CBS41. There are many hearth products available including Gas Appliance, Wood Stoves, Vent Free Gas Appliance, Electric, Masonry Wood Burning, and Wood Burning insert fireplace. The EPA does not actually certify fireplaces, rather they require the manufactures to undergo emissions testing in accordance with EPA Reference Method 28 and provide certification and labeling.
